Library Rules and Regulations

Membership of Library

  • Library membership is given to students up to the course completion.
  • Senior teachers are appointed as members of the Library.
  • Membership is also given to non-teaching staff.
  • Associate membership is also given to the staff of other colleges in the campus.

Rules for Students

  • The library is open from 9:20 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. on all working days.
  • Students must enter their names and sign in the register at the entrance counter before entering the Library.
  • Maintain silence in the library.
  • Personal belongings and eatables are not allowed inside the stack section and reading room.
  • Books will be issued only on the Library Borrower Loan Register.
  • Books are issued for 15 days and can be renewed if there is no demand for the same book.
  • A fine of Rs. 1/- per day per book is levied for late returns.

Rules for Teaching & Non-Teaching Staff

  • Each teacher can borrow 5 books related to their subject for a semester.
  • Non-teaching staff can borrow 2 books at a time.
  • Encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, yearbooks, and rare books cannot be borrowed.
  • Library books such as novels and general readings must be returned within a week if requested by others.
  • Current issues of journals and newspapers are not available for home lending.

Books Issue Rules

  • Books are classified according to the Dewey Decimal Classification System.
  • Lost books must be replaced with the same edition or the latest edition of the lost book.
  • Members must check the condition of books before borrowing and report any damage immediately.
  • Reference books must be used within the Library and Information Center only.
  • SC and ST Book Bank services are available.
  • Old question papers are also available in the library.
